Extensions

Review Extensions let you customize the document review experience by adding custom behavior and UI to the Review Interface. Extensions are JavaScript/TypeScript modules that are loaded at startup and have access to the full Review Interface API.

You can use the Review Extensions framework to:

  • Execute custom code in response to application lifecycle events
  • Add custom UI panels (cards) in docks around the document viewer
  • Add toolbar buttons and controls
  • Add right-click context menu items
  • Render custom highlights and overlays on document content
  • Register custom viewer types
  • Conditionally load based on application context or version

In this section

  • Building Extensions — how to structure, author, and deploy an extension
  • Adding Custom Content — cards, toolbar controls, context menus, and content overlays
  • Debugging Extensions — browser console API for inspecting loaded extensions and temporarily disabling the extension framework during development
